Karachi: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Hyderabad in its anti-smuggling operation has thwarted the switch of smuggled items price greater than Rs 23.9 million to Karachi.
Sources mentioned that the smuggled merchandise had been being transported from Faisalabad to Karachi by a Mazda truck which included branded costly cellphones, ready-made clothes. The Special Investigation Unit of the Customs and the Anti-Smuggling Organization collectively carried out a profitable raid close to Qazi Ahmed in Shaheed Benazir District on a tip-off and stopped and searched a suspected Mazda truck.
550 worthwhile branded cellphones, 2320 readymade clothes had been recovered from the truck with none related authorized paperwork. The Deputy Director of Customs Intelligence, Hyderabad, has registered a case and arrested the motive force of the Mazda truck, whereas increasing the scope of investigation into the organized smuggling gang.
