Karachi: The Sindh authorities declared 80 villages of 13 union councils of Johi tehsil of Dadu district as catastrophe affected.
In this regard, the Revenue Department has issued a proper notification after the approval of the Chief Minister of Sindh, in keeping with which Tor, Pat Gul Muhammad, TJ Shaheed, Drug Bala, Wahi Pandhi, Tando Rahim Khan, Channi have been affected. , Shah Hassan, Kamal Khan, Jofi, TJ Shaheed.
The notification mentioned that in the course of the current heavy rains, a serious breach had occurred within the new Gaj Dam in Johi Taluka, Dadu District, which had inundated dozens of villages, leaving standing crops, livestock and homes within the affected villages. The Sindh authorities has declared the affected areas as catastrophe areas below the National Disaster Management Act, 1958.
In addition to waiving some agricultural taxes within the affected villages, the Sindh authorities will distribute free wheat and rations to the affected households, whereas fodder will likely be supplied to the cattle and the affected areas will likely be rehabilitated. The Sindh Chief Minister has issued orders to the Relief Commissioner Qazi Shahid Pervez. Now the Relief Commissioner will personally supervise the reduction work.
