Lahore: Anti-terrorism courtroom sentenced Professor Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, head of the banned Jamaat-ud-Dawa, to life in jail.
Judge Arshad Hussain Bhutto's courtroom in Lahore, whereas ruling on Case No. 16/19 and 25/19 filed by CTD, sentenced 4 individuals together with Hafiz Saeed to imprisonment in 2 instances.
Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, Prof. Zafar Iqbal and Yahya Mujahid have been sentenced to 10 and a half years, whereas Prof. Hafiz Abdul Rahman Maki was sentenced to six months imprisonment.
Professor Hafiz Mohammad Saeed has been arrested since July 2019 and 4 instances have been determined towards him thus far. A complete of 41 instances have been registered by the CTD towards the leaders of Jamaat-ud-Dawa, out of which 24 instances have been determined whereas the remainder are pending within the ATC courts.
Hafiz Saeed was earlier sentenced by Judge Arshad Hussain Bhatta on February 12 this yr to 11 years imprisonment and a positive of Rs 30,000 in two instances.
